Network Engineer II

About the Role

Fanatics Betting and Gaming is seeking a motivated and technically curious Network Engineer II to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in enterprise networking who's eager to build their skills in a modern, cloud-integrated network environment.

You'll help support and scale a robust infrastructure spanning 20+ on-premises locations, all connected back to our AWS-based cloud ecosystem. Working closely with senior engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies including Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba switching and wireless, and cloud-network integrations.

What You'll Do

• Assist with on-site network deployments: configure and install hardware, verify connectivity, and support go-live activities.
• Help maintain and monitor a distributed network using tools like SNMP and NetFlow to ensure uptime, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues quickly and effectively.
• Learn and apply best practices in routing, switching, network security, and cloud networking.
• Participate in network upgrades, patching, and basic configuration tasks.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing around deployments, designs, and operations.
• Support network reliability by participating in an on-call rotation.
• Must be open to occasional travel to Fanatics Betting & Gaming offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team building activities.

What You Bring

Required:

• 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise networks in a hands-on capacity.
• Proficiency in CCNA-level networking concepts (routing, switching, security).
• Working knowledge of Next-Gen Firewalls (Palo Alto preferred; Fortinet or Cisco Firepower also valued).
• Experience with enterprise wireless solutions (controller or controllerless).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, or equivalents).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed and participate in an on-call support rotation.
• Clear communication skills for documentation and team collaboration.
• A proactive, curious mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience with Aruba networking technologies, including Aruba Central, Aruba Switches, Instant Access Points, and Gateways.
• Familiarity with Palo Alto's Panorama for centralized firewall management.
• Exposure to in-band and out-of-band network management solutions (ZPE Nodegrid, Opengear, Vertiv Avocent, etc.).
• Interest or experience in network automation using tools like Python, Ansible, Bash, or Terraform (IaC).
• Understanding of Network Access Control (NAC) concepts and tools such as Aruba ClearPass or Cisco ISE.

The base salary range for this role is $108,000 -$180,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; ranges will change based on country of residence.
