Network Engineer

We are currently recruiting a Network Engineer to be part of our Group Technology team.  Reporting to our Head of Infrastructure & Network, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and robustness of a variety of network systems cross the Foxtel Group.  

Working within the Infrastructure and Network Team you will be responsible for the ongoing operations, management and support of Foxtel’s Network Infrastructure.  

You will be key to troubleshooting problems and providing reliable network access to Foxtel system users, supporting the Broadcast, Enterprise and development teams with the administration of network devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and upgrading Foxtel’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches and Firewalls across multiple data centres and locations 
• Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, working with Network Vendors to diagnose and fix network issues  
• Monitoring network performance, identifying areas for improvement, and optimising systems for reliability and efficiency 
• Implementing and managing network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and other network security systems. 
• Maintaining detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. 
• Provide customer support and change management, including responding to enquiries from telephone calls, chat, self-service job tickets and email 
• Undertake regular and proactive management across the production environment to highlight any impacting issues and produce regular reports on key network system’s performance and capacity. 
• Support the successful implementation of IT Infrastructure projects. 
• Maintaining a customer obsessed approach to application service management 

About your experience

• 5+ years’ experience in enterprise-level, multi-site network support 
• Hands-on with Juniper / Arista / Mellanox / HPE (Juniper highly desirable) 
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) 
• Skilled in both corporate and wireless network environments 
• Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex network issues 
• Experienced in cloud connectivity, including AWS 
• Customer-focused approach to technical support 
• Holds relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco) 
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) 
• Collaborative team player across diverse technical domains 
• Strong time management and attention to detail 
• Performs well under pressure in high-stakes environments 
• Builds and maintains strong internal and external relationships
