Full Description
The Manager of Sports Events is responsible for developing national properties, large-scale events, and significant event initiatives in the region, helping to differentiate and enhance brand image. You will take on a project leader role, collaborating with all key stakeholders to maximize the impact of major regional sports event initiatives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of event execution, from creative development to concept, implementation, and evaluation. You will work closely with local field teams, offering guidance and support to fully leverage all sports properties and Red Bull partnerships in host markets. This involves informing goal-setting, identifying important scenes and relationships, and directing relevant initiatives following national and regional events within the region.

LEAD EXECUTION OF ALL REGIONAL SPORTS EVENTS
Lead the execution and production of high-quality events for all Red Bull Sports events in the region.
Be fiscally responsible for managing event budgets for assigned projects.
Identify and propose venues for event properties based on the needs of the local market and expected return on investment.
Develop project plans, oversee their execution, and lead the project team.
Oversee all aspects of pre-planning and event execution.
Act as the liaison between Red Bull and local authorities to secure necessary authorizations.
Ensure effective communication among team members and partners.
Manage the event budget efficiently.
Collaborate with the Legal department to draft contracts, invite bids, assess proposals, and negotiate favorable prices with relevant partners/suppliers.
Source and manage event production companies and oversee all logistics related to the events.
Work with a media agency to develop and execute Above-the-Line strategies.
Partner with the regional Communications team to enhance media outcomes for significant projects.
Collaborate with Regional Leadership and Santa Monica teams to shape the Sports Marketing strategy.
Coordinate with Risk Management and Legal departments to facilitate necessary agreements with external parties in accordance with Red Bull standards.
SUPPORT PRODUCT ACTIVATION
Collaborate with local Brand Marketing and sales teams to develop activation plans that establish local relevance.
Manage the distribution of event materials for the region.
Work with Regional Marketing Leadership and third-party organizations to create innovative branding solutions for events.
SHARE BEST PRACTICES
Participate in meetings such as Brand Marketing creative workshops and training sessions to gather and share insights, and to align strategies.
Identify and share best practices across the regional Marketing team and the Sports department.
Collaborate with the regional Communications team to drive return on investment by ensuring effective external communication, including creating and managing content distribution for local initiatives across relevant channels like viral media, print, and video.
EXPERIENCE

- Over three years of relevant experience in event management, project coordination, team leadership, and budget management.
- Proven experience in event and project management.
- Ability to develop creative and unique solutions for effective project execution.
- Extensive knowledge of various sports and their respective dynamics at both regional and national levels.
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $400,000.
- Proficient in contract negotiation and construction, able to draft and review beneficial agreements with suppliers and external partners.
- Familiarity with all communication channels relevant to distribution outlets.
- Background in TV and video production programming.
- Established reputation for credible collaboration with local governments, with a strong understanding of local approval processes and regulations.
- Ability to foster meaningful dialogue and secure stakeholder buy-in.
- Expertise in planning and project management.
- Skill in cultivating a collaborative team environment.
- Creative mindset with experience implementing new ideas and evaluating outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Travel 10-20%
