About the opportunity: We are extremely excited to be searching for a Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities department based at our training ground, Finch Farm.  

As Maintenance Operative you will carry out any general and minor repairs around the training ground and surrounding areas, as well as planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks; ensuring high standards are maintained and areas are well presented and tidy at all times.  

Other key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and statutory compliance tasks ensuring accurate recording mechanisms are in place and are regularly updated 

  • Assisting with development and upgrades of facilities in the training ground and the surrounding areas   

  • Maintaining the appearance of internal and external areas of Finch Farm and the surrounding areas   

  • Responding efficiently to any requests when raised  

  • Supervising visiting contractors if requested 

  • Work out-of-hours and bank holidays as required.   

  • Operating machinery safely and following all health and safety procedures   

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for an individual who is innovative and driven with a commitment to providing an outstanding service. 

With a sound knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislation our ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following skills and knowledge: 

  • A relevant trade qualification 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships. 

  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly, concisely, confidently and constructively to ensure mutual understanding. 

  • Pro-active; able to self-motivate and use own initiative in the absence of clear guidelines or when working alone by identifying tasks, projects and/or potential problems in advance, creating solutions and taking ownership of outcomes as appropriate 

  • Accurate with an excellent eye for the smallest details 

  • An efficient, organised and flexible approach 

  • Evidence of on-going professional development 

  • Willing and able to commit to working evenings and weekends as required

The role will be offered on a 12-month Fixed Term contract and will be based at Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood), working 40 hours per week.
