The Role
We are seeking a Logistics Operations Manager to join our Games Services and Workforce team. This role will lead the planning and delivery of logistics operations across the Games, including warehousing, distribution, and materials planning.
You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive operations plan, procuring and managing a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider, overseeing the Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) supplier, and ensuring efficient, sustainable, and safe delivery of services across all competition and non-competition venues.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact behind the scenes of one of the world’s largest sporting events, ensuring that every athlete, venue, and stakeholder has what they need, when they need it.
Job Summary:
As Logistics Operations Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of all logistics operations for Glasgow 2026 – from warehousing and distribution to asset management and post-Games dissolution. Working with a Third-Party Logistics provider and FF&E supplier, you’ll ensure that every venue and stakeholder have the right equipment at the right time, all delivered safely, sustainably, and within budget.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in event logistics, operations support, or supply chain management at a senior level. You will have a proven track record in designing and delivering end-to-end logistics and warehousing solutions, as well as strong experience in procurement, tendering, and evaluating supplier proposals. Your ability to negotiate and manage contracts effectively, combined with excellent leadership skills, will enable you to oversee complex workloads and lead teams confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
You will also be highly organised, with strong administrative skills and exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across documentation, inventory control, and reporting. Confidence with Microsoft Excel, stock systems, and delivery tracking tools is essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations, health and safety, and manual handling practices.
Experience of delivering time-critical logistics operations within defined budgets will be key to success in this role. Public sector procurement knowledge and experience managing logistics packages will be particularly valuable. In addition, experience in international multi-sport event logistics, venue-based operations, or multi-site logistics delivery will be highly regarded. A higher education qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field would also be advantageous.
