Full Description

We are looking for a Judicial Services Assistant Manager to assist in managing and/or to provide appropriate support to The FA Judicial process, relating primarily to “Regulatory Commissions and Appeal Boards for the Premier League to Step 4 of the National League system & the women's professional game, Safeguarding Review Panels (SRP) and county/league appeals” (collectively “Judicial Services remit”).

What will you be doing?

  • Acting as Secretary for all Panels applicable to Judicial Services, as required, whether onsite, offsite, or remote hearings occurring within or outside of traditional office hours.
  • Provide creative hearing & administrative support as well as assistance on disciplinary procedures & tasks where appropriate, while providing department manager with feedback on Panel Member performances and general case observations.
  • Monitor and coordinate communications received, whilst managing or assisting in managing the day-to-day workings of the Judicial Services department.
  • Deputise for the Judicial Services Manager when necessary.
  • Line manage relevant members of the Judicial Services team.
  • Liaise with the Judicial Panel Chairman, as appropriate, and/or act as Judicial Panel Chair nominee as delegated.
  • Update the FA Communications department concerning matters in the Judicial Services remit.
  • Manage or assist in managing the administration of the Judicial Services remit.
  • Contribute towards the production of educational/training content to be delivered by the Judicial Services department.
  • Manage or assist in managing the maintenance of timetables and/or hearing schedules and associated tasks for the Judicial Services remit.
  • Provide appropriate assistant on procedures to clubs and Participants applicable to the Judicial Services remit.
  • Manage and coordinate the monitoring of departmental email inboxes by direct reports.
  • Review written reasons when necessary.
  • Oversee or assist in overseeing communications with the Equality Department in relation to mandatory education orders, and other relevant matters should they arise, whilst ensuring non-compliance breaches are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, bi-annual, annual and ad-hoc administration tasks for the team as required.
  • Oversee or assist in overseeing the administration fees and fines invoicing process when required while maintaining an up-to-date account of all relevant monies (received, outstanding or payments plans) on the applicable systems. Act accordingly on any non-payments.
  • Manage or assist with managing tasks relating to Judicial Panel Members as they arise.
  • Manage or assist invoices and/or purchase orders are processed in a timely fashion.
  • Produce weekly & monthly department reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc administration tasks for the Judicial Services department and provide cover where necessary for other members of the Judicial Services team.
  • Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
  • As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

Essential for the role:

Knowledge

  • A significant understanding of Disciplinary and Appeal Procedures
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding principles

Experience

  • A general understanding of the FA and CFA Disciplinary process
  • Experience of working within a regulatory or enforcement environment.
  • Experience of building relationships and working with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally

Technical Skills

  • Strong Equality background

  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Beneficial to have:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the County structure
  • Sound knowledge of IFAB Laws of the Game and/or knowledge of internal FA Governance policies and practices.

Experience

  • In professional football discipline
  • In Safeguarding
  • Experience of County FA operations
  • Managerial experience
  • Business or legal background
  • Working in a high-profile environment where decisions can be picked up by the media.

Technical Skills

  • Experience of content production for publication
  • Competency in FA IT systems/portals
