About the FIH
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is the global governing body for hockey, responsible for promoting and developing the sport worldwide. With more than 140 member associations and a vibrant calendar of world-class competitions, FIH connects millions of players, fans, and partners across all continents.
About the Role
FIH is seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to join the FIH Integrity Commission.
The Commission plays a key role in safeguarding the integrity, ethics, and good governance of hockey worldwide. Members support FIH in addressing integrity-related matters, monitoring developments in the field, and ensuring the effective implementation and application of the FIH Integrity Code.
This role requires independence, sound judgment, discretion, and a strong commitment to protecting the values of sport. Members will work collaboratively with fellow Commission members, the FIH Executive Board, and external experts where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
The FIH Integrity Commission Member shall have the following responsibilities:
• To provide assistance to FIH on integrity matters and good governance;
• To advise persons covered by the Integrity Code on its interpretation and application, and more generally to raise awareness of integrity matters;
• To monitor developments related to integrity issues and recommend updates to the Code;
• To carry out investigations into suspected breaches of the Code; and
• To recommend amendments to the Integrity Code to the FIH Executive Board.
Profile and Experience
Applicants should possess:
• Fluency in written and spoken English;
• Professional qualifications and experience in law, governance, accountancy, policing, investigations, compliance, or sports administration;
• Experience conducting investigations across multiple jurisdictions;
• Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills;
• The ability to manage highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism;
• A rigorous and methodical approach; and
• A strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and fair play in sport.
Other Information
The FIH Integrity Commission carries out most of its work electronically or via telephone/video conference.
The term of office is four (4) years. FIH Integrity Commission Members may be re-appointed by approval of the FIH Executive Board for a maximum of three terms of office.
These positions are voluntary. However, where attendance at meetings or travel is required, FIH will reimburse reasonable expenses incurred.
The Terms of Reference of the FIH Integrity Commission and the FIH Integrity Code are currently under review by the FIH Executive Board. The current versions may be consulted here: ToR and FIH Integrity Code.
