Individual Player Development Lead Coach
Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation, professionalism and community.
During the course of a glittering history spanning three centuries, the Club has been shaped and guided by its aspirational motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - nothing but the best is good enough.
One of only three clubs to have been a founder member of both the Football League and Premier League, Everton has played more games in English football's topflight than any other club.
While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium opening in summer 2025, under our new ownership, The Freidkin Group.
In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our Men’s, Women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and continue to compete at the highest level of the game.
About the opportunity: For decades, our Club’s Academy has been one of the most respected and renowned in football. Its vision to develop young players who are technically and tactically capable of playing for Everton’s First Team, or having a career in the professional game, remains as focused as ever.
We now have an extremely exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to join us as an Individual Player Development Lead Coach.
Supporting the Club Pathway Mission to produce Academy Graduates for Everton FC and ensuring positive outcomes for all our people, you will work closely with players within the Professional Development Phase (PDP) to provide structure and coordination of activities aimed at preparing players to progress to the 1st team environment.
As Individual Player Development Lead Coach you will devise individual development plans for players within this phase through the ‘four corners’ approach, while providing expert insight and analysis in respect to player development and the individual player’s needs. You will ensure each programme is reflective of playing and coaching philosophies of the Club, as well as being supportive of the teams playing and strategic objectives. The role will also provide support for players out on loan.
Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone who has an excellent track record in a similar role, who can show a clear understanding of how to structure and develop elite professional footballers, ensuring our Club meets the standard – Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.
You need to have the ability to drive cultural change where needed, taking ownership of the delivery of the coaching development philosophy within your area; all whilst being an excellent communicator that is skilled in developing and sustaining positive working relationships with a wide variety of people across the multi departmental Team.
Essential qualifications for this role include:
- UEFA A-Licence
- FA Advanced Youth Award
At Everton Football Club we are ambitious, determined and authentic. If you feel you have the experience and the expertise we are looking for, we would love to hear from you!
