About the opportunity: 

Everton in the Community is seeking to appoint a Health Screening Lead to coordinate the effective delivery of one of EitC’s flagship health screening programmes, delivered out of the first of its kind purpose built mental health and wellbeing hub, The Peoples Place.  

The Peoples Place will act as a community diagnostics hub for a range of health screening activities, including cardio-pulmonary screening (BEAT Breathlessness), which will be one of the first of it’s kind in the UK.  

This role involves developing and sustaining effective relationships with healthcare organisations, funders and the community to ensure access to a range of health screening activities, as well as health and wellbeing programmes to support lifestyles of those accessing the screening.  

The role will also involve supporting the coordination of other health and wellbeing activities and programmes to be delivered out of The People’s Place. 

Other key responsibilities will include:   

  • Working collaboratively with partners (e.g. GPs, Primary Care Networks, NHS) to identify individuals and groups to be efficiently referred onto the programme 

  • Developing effective relationships with a range of healthcare organisations and networks to access People’s Place activities and the BEAT Breathlessness Programme 

  • Coordinating engagement activities/events to promote the programme and establish referral pathways into People’s Place activities 

  • Support the execution of large-scale screening and awareness raising events. 

  • Working closely with EitC staff to ensure a pathway to access wider EitC programmes and health and wellbeing programmes is established 

  • Liaising with EitC’s GP and health promotion team to organise health checks and long-term health condition screening activities delivered out of The People’s Place 

  • Organising and conducting health checks externally (e.g. workplaces across Liverpool City Region, including blood sample collection, BMI analysis, and health risk management 

Safeguarding    

  • To understand the Club’s  Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines 

  • To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment 

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an individual who has a genuine passion for supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing.  

With experience in coordinating innovative health promotion, engagement and screening activities/ events, our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Health related qualification 

  • Full, clean drivers license 

  • Experience of conducting health checks (e.g. point of care testing) 

  • Experience of engaging with healthcare organisations (e.g GPs, Primary Care Networks, NHS) 

  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable adults 

  • Ability to plan, deliver, develop, and monitor health and wellbeing programmes and events
