Position Title: Grant Administration Fellow, Unified Champion Schools
Location: HQ (Washington, DC) or Remote
Department: Special Olympics North America Unified Champion Schools ®
Reports to (supervisor): Manager, Operations
Hourly range for US Based Staff: $10-21 hour
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary:
Special Olympics North America is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented fellow to join our Grant Administration and Operations team. This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in grant management and administration, supporting the team with various projects and tasks. The fellow will work closely with the Manager, Operations, and other team members to ensure the seamless operation of grant-related activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process invoices for Unified Champion Schools (UCS) expenses throughout the 2025-2026 school year
- Assist with grant-funded personnel tasks and systems, including monthly staff timesheets and personnel allocation forms
- Collaborate with the grant administration team to monitor and support federal subaward recipients, including compliance review, risk assessment, training, and resource creation and editing
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive yearlong grant administration timeline/calendar to map pillar initiatives, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and enhancing cross-functional visibility
- Support contract monitoring and procurement to ensure alignment with organizational policies and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
- Maintain accurate and organized records of grant-related documents for reporting and audit purposes
- Assist with consolidating information from multiple systems into a new centralized UCS database
- Help with the coordination of meetings, workshops, and events related to grant administration
- Provide general administrative support to the grant administration team as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, a college or university program, preferably in a related field such as public policy and administration, nonprofit management, or business administration
- Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.) or similar products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional or volunteer experience in inclusion, disability, and/or education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Proficiency in SAP Concur
- Experience with Smartsheet or similar project management systems
- Knowledge of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools®
- Interest in grant management and nonprofit work
