The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) offers the position of a full-time Governance Co-ordinator (f/m/x) in an international and multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany, starting as soon as possible.

The IPC, a purpose-driven non-profit association, is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. We oversee the delivery of the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games and serve as International Federation for five Para sports. We enjoy a positive working relationship with the IPC Governing Board, members of which are democratically elected every four years by the IPC General Assembly. Since 1989, we have been creating change through sport with the Paralympic Games and Paralympic athletes at our core.
The IPC seeks to use the influential global position of the Paralympic Movement and the growing profile of Para athletes to challenge the stigma attached to disability and empower social transformation.

ROLE

The Governance Co-ordinator (f/m/x) reports to the Governance Compliance Officer and will primarily be responsible for the administration of IPC Governing Board meetings and supporting the Governance Compliance Officer with promoting and sustaining an operational culture of good governance within the IPC and the Paralympic Movement.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the administration of the operation of various governance structures, predominantly the IPC Governing Board, to include:
    • Schedule and set up meetings (in person and calls).
    • Coordinate agenda items for each meeting.
    • Support the coordination of internal team members, including attendance, presentations, and submission of documents for Governing Board meetings.
    • Compile and upload documents to the Governing Board SharePoint site.
    • Take accurate minutes and circulate them for approval in a timely manner.
    • Track all actions taken and decisions made by the Governing Board and follow up with colleagues and/or Governing Board members, as required, to ensure item completion or to identify required follow-up actions.
  • Support the Governance Manager with scheduling interviews and related steps in the appointment process for IPC Bodies. Provide resources and support to the IPC governance bodies.
  • Provide support to the planning and delivery of the IPC General Assembly:
    • Document compilation and production of scripts for IPC representatives, voting procedures and templates.
    • Take accurate minutes and deliver them in a timely manner.
    • Ensure the publication of key governance-related documents.
  • Ensure timely and accurate registration and compliance with relevant German legal requirements.
  • Assist with vetting processes, as required.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

  • Passion for the IPC’s vision, mission and values.
  • Governance/compliance/regulatory/other relevant experience.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience with minute taking and being adept at managing time sensitive document updates.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and networks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and resilient, while maintain a team-player mindset.
  • Ability to be flexible and, on occasion, work evenings and weekends to provide administration support for meetings and events.
  • Fluency in English (any additional language is an asset).
  • Occasional overseas travel may be required.
