The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Games Services Manager to join our Accommodation & Team Services team within the Games Services function.

This is a key operational leadership role responsible for planning and delivering Games Services Centres across accommodation zones during Glasgow 2026.

Unlike previous editions of the Games, Glasgow 2026 will operate without a centralised Athlete Village. Instead, the Games will deliver an innovative distributed accommodation model, utilising hotels, serviced apartments and university residences across the city.

As Games Services Manager, you will lead the operational planning and delivery of Games Services Centres within each CGA accommodation zone, ensuring athletes, team officials and Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs) receive consistent, high-quality residential support throughout their stay.

Working closely with the Head of Accommodation & Team Services, you will represent the function across cross-functional operational planning and collaborate with teams including Sport, Transport, Security, Medical, Ceremonies, Look & Signage and Technology.

This role requires an experienced operational leader who can oversee multi-site service delivery, manage a diverse Games-time workforce and ensure exceptional service standards throughout Games-time operations.

Job Summary:

Working as part of the Accommodation & Team Services leadership team, you will lead the operational planning, readiness and delivery of Games Services Centres across all accommodation zones.

You will ensure the successful delivery of residential services within Glasgow 2026’s distributed accommodation model, supporting athletes and delegations with safe, secure, inclusive and well-managed living environments.

The role involves coordinating service delivery across multiple accommodation sites, ensuring strong integration between accommodation providers and functional teams including Sport, Transport, Security, Ceremonies and Medical services.

You will oversee the planning and delivery of front-of-house residential services, athlete support environments and operational coordination within accommodation zones. This includes supporting the delivery of athlete lounges, communal spaces and residential services such as information services, laundry provision and wellbeing spaces.

As part of this role, you will line manage the Games Services Coordinator and lead a significant Games-time workforce of staff and volunteers across multiple service centres.

You will also manage operational reporting, issue resolution processes and service monitoring frameworks, ensuring that agreed service standards are delivered consistently across all accommodation zones.

This is a highly visible leadership role during Games-time, requiring confident decision-making, strong stakeholder management and the ability to manage complex operational environments.

Flexibility will be essential in the lead-up to and during Games Time, including evening and weekend working.

Key Skills and Experience:

We are looking for an experienced operational professional with significant experience delivering accommodation, athlete services or participant services within a major event or complex operational environment.

You will bring proven experience managing multi-site or distributed service operations, ideally within international events, large-scale hospitality operations or major sporting competitions.

Strong leadership and people management skills are essential, with experience managing staff or volunteers and leading operational teams through high-pressure delivery periods.

You will be confident managing relationships with accommodation providers, service partners and international delegations, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience implementing service standards, escalation frameworks and operational issue resolution processes will be important, along with a strong understanding of residential operations including room allocations, delegation requirements and operational service delivery.

You should also have experience working within governance, safeguarding and data protection frameworks, ensuring sensitive delegation and athlete information is handled appropriately.

Experience supporting workforce planning and operational readiness for large-scale events will be highly beneficial.

Experience working at the Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games or other international multi-sport events would be advantageous, as would experience working with National Olympic Committees or Commonwealth Games Associations.

Knowledge of inclusive accommodation standards, accessibility frameworks and Glasgow’s hospitality infrastructure would also be beneficial.

Above all, you will be a confident operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is motivated to deliver exceptional experiences for athletes and teams.
