GAME SYSTEMS OFFICER x4 (Women’s RWC England 2025 LOC)

CONTRACT: 15 August 2025 UNTIL 30 September 2025

BASED IN: Northampton, York, Manchester & Exeter

Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament.  World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.

Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever. The Game Systems Officer (GSO) is the on the ground representative of the Game Systems Team for each match. Game Systems looks after the provision of Video Replay, Ref Comms, Statistics, Match Timing and the Switch App. The GSO will be the contact person in-venue for each of these areas and will have an in-match hands on role in supporting the Switch app. The role will be supported by a Game Systems team member either in venue or remotely.

Key dates:

  • Manchester: 20/8 - 31/8 Total 2 weekends 7 days on site
  • York: 20/8 - 8/9 - 3 weekends 13 days on site
  • Northampton: 21/8 - 8/9 3 weekends 11 days on site
  • Exeter: 20/8 - 15/9 4 weekends 14 days on site

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND TRAINING AND READINESS IN JULY AND/OR AUGUST

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILIITES

  • Monitor the delivery of and be the primary point of contact for Video Replay (Hawk Eye) and Referee Communications (VME) on site for MD-1 and MD.
  • Support the delivery of the timing solution in tandem with AE Live.
  • Be the point of contact on site for the statistics provider (TBC)
  • Ensure that the Switch App has been set up and is working and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Raise any issues to the appropriate person/people for resolution.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Experience in the delivery of rugby matches in one or more of the areas of responsibility
  • Good technical skills
  • Understanding of rugby and the laws of the game
  • Proactive approach
  • Good problem solving skills

Desirable

  • Strong IT skills
  • Previous Rugby officiating experience

Please note that RWC25 will carry out the sourcing, interviewing, selection and offer stages of this recruitment process. Should you be successful for the role, please note that onboarding, engaging and payrolling will be handled by a third party. Accordingly, if you are successful for the role, you will need to enter into a contract for services as a PAYE worker (or limited company contractor) with this third party.
