EA SPORTS Madden NFL is currently looking for a Commentary Designer to join our team and assist in the creation of a deep and engaging commentary experience for our players.
A Commentary Writer is charged with developing the flows and conversations that our commentary teams will bring into the overall narrative in both individual games and throughout a season. From discussions around player performance in the first half compared to the second, to bringing up the emotions of a coach who may be returning to their alma mater, making these moments stand out and add depth to the playing experience is paramount.
Your Responsibilities:
- The writing of samples for PxP and Color Commentary addressing common football plays
- Working with Audio Artists on speech flows and stitching patterns
- Creating narratives across individual games, complete seasons, and from one season to another
- Working with Designers and Producers across the Madden team to address their designs through the commentary space
- Constant evaluation and checks against quality in the commentary space
- Talent Direction when necessary to ensure proper recording of content
Your Qualifications:
- 2+ years of sports writing - ideally in Sports Reporting, Op-Ed pieces or human interest stories
- Evidence of self-started programs or reports from previous occupations
- Experience in Sports Production and environments
- A passion for football and knowledge of nomenclature and schemes
- A passion for sports video games
