WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The ideal candidate will be part of the Nike Flyknit Engineering team in Vietnam, collaborating with cross-functional partners in Product Creation, Manufacturing, and Global Flyknit teams. The incumbent will report to the Flyknit Engineering Manager and work closely with teams in Beaverton, Ningbo, and Shenzhou Group to drive innovation and execution.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented engineer with a passion for knit innovation and footwear performance. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving abilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable working across functions and cultures. This role requires a balance of hands-on development, process optimization, and cross-team collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in textile engineering, footwear development, or related fields.
Experience with knitting machines, yarns, and textile structures.
Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
Willingness to be based in Ho Chi Minh City or other Nike Vietnam locations, depending on business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will help bring Flyknit innovation to life by developing and refining knit structures, processes, and tooling to meet design and performance goals. You’ll work hands-on with machines, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. To that end, you’ll,
Engineer Flyknit uppers by translating design intent into machine-ready knit programs.
Optimize knit structures for performance, durability, and manufacturability.
Collaborate with Design, Development, and Manufacturing teams to ensure alignment across functions.
Support Knit development and validation, including provide knit feedback and suggestions to Development team for enhancing knit manufacturability.
Troubleshoot knit-related issues in development, commercialization and production, proposing actionable solutions.
Analyse yarn behaviour and knit performance using lab testing, fit and wear testing.
Document knit issue findings and maintain clear communication with Global Flyknit teams.
