THE POSITION

These are your key tasks:

  • Deliver advanced Football Performance Insights across FIFA Tournaments (Youth and Senior World Cups), using the combined power of video and data to analyse tactical and technical aspects of the game.
  • Support with the analytical direction of the team by introducing new ideas, methods, and perspectives that deepen FIFA’s understanding of football.
  • Support the development of Performance Insights resources (reports, dashboards, frameworks, video-led outputs) to support Global Football Development.
  • Provide high-impact insights to stakeholders including Confederations, Member Associations, coaches, and the Technical Study Group.
  • Support on analytical standards and methodologies, ensuring consistency in how video and data are integrated into outputs.
  • Contribute expertise to projects, ensuring analytical rigour and alignment with strategic priorities, while collaborating closely with the project manager on delivery.
  • Monitor outputs to uphold accuracy, clarity, and football relevance.
  • Foster effective communication and knowledge exchange across the team and with external partners.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • Undergraduate degree in Performance Analysis or equivalent. 
  • Master's degree in Performance Analysis or equivalent is desirable.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in sports performance analysis, with a proven track record of delivering tactical, technical, and statistical insights.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating video and data to produce high-quality performance insights.
  • Experience engaging and delivering insights to diverse groups of practitioners, including coaches, analysts, and technical staff.
  • Exposure to working collaboratively with practitioners across other football-related disciplines (e.g. coaching, fitness, medical, talent development).
  • Experience providing guidance or mentoring to other analysts is desirable.
  • High proficiency in video analysis platforms (e.g. Hudl, Sportscode or equivalent), with the ability to translate raw footage into meaningful insights.
  • Strong experience working with event and tracking datasets, integrating them with video to deliver evidence-based performance analysis.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote), with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and impactful outputs for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools or coding languages (e.g. Tableau, Python, R) is desirable.
  • Deep, world-class understanding of football strategies, tactics, and terminology, with the ability to contextualise and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and connect tactical and technical aspects of the game through integrated video and data analysis.
  • High proficiency in video analysis tools and workflows, with the ability to translate raw footage into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience working with performance, event data and tracking data to build evidence-based narratives and frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders including coaches, analysts, confederations, and internal teams.
  • Strong personal presence, setting high standards for analytical quality and guiding colleagues in their work.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the confidence to take initiative and drive new ideas.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to perform under pressure in dynamic tournament environments.
  • Collaborative mindset, fostering knowledge exchange, problem-solving, and collective growth within the team.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is essential.
  • Fluency in any other language would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Understanding of requirement to work unsociable hours.
