Financial Accountant – Marketing
Location – London/Leeds/Dublin
Hybrid  - 2 days per week (Dublin only)

Reporting to the Financial Controller – Marketing, this role will assist in delivering financial and management information to all internal and external stakeholders. This role will focus predominantly on accounting and reporting for marketing costs within the Global Financial Control team. This will include being involved in the management of specific operating expenses and the reporting of monthly results with analysis.  

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with the production of month-end numbers for Brand Marketing and Customer Acquisition within Group Reporting deadlines.
  • Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure that costs are accurately accrued within the time constraints of a fast close environment.
  • Review all significant variances for areas of responsibility, flagging key variances in advance of close.
  • Compile mid-month outturn numbers for marketing channels for communication to senior management.
  • Standardise and automate month-end tasks to improve timelines.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlines.
  • Engage proactively with assigned budget owners to improve processes and procedures around monthly accruals.
  • Continuously review and document processes and procedures in light of changes in systems and business requirements.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Divisional Heads of Finance to assist in budget and forecast production, ensure completeness of monthly accounts, and support commercial decision-making.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial information to the Group reporting team.
  • Engage proactively with internal and external audits.
  • Support related teams within Finance to achieve the best results overall.

How You’ll Do It

  • Must hold a recognised Accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 2+ years working in a similar environment with a proven track record in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proven record of consistent delivery in a similar role.
  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP or other similar financial systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Valuable teammate who is hard-working, adaptable, proactive, and operates effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator capable of effectively interacting with individuals from non-finance backgrounds.
  • Adept at handling high volumes of data and comfortable in a highly automated environment.
  • Well-organised and thorough, with close attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
