Job Description

Responsible for managing financial operations and reporting across all Wasserman France entities as part of the EMEA Regional Finance Team, to ensure efficient, accurate and timely financial and management accounting.

Overall financial management of the Wasserman France entities, with the main focuses being around holding strong stakeholder relationships; ensuring smooth end to end financial operations and delivering the key outputs of the annual financial reporting cycle. Including month end close, forecasts, budgets, as well as managing local compliance and statutory account filings for each company.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Financial Management and Compliance

  • Ownership of the annual financial reporting cycle for Rugby and Football France, reporting up into the UK finance team
  • Manage local tax audits as required
  • Ensure all local tax and other compliance is prepared, reviewed and submitted to deadlines and that all associated and relevant documentation is in place (i.e. foreign tax certificates)
  • Manage relationships with third party accountants and financial advisors
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation and support to Tax Director, EMEA in relation to annual Corporate Tax returns
  • Maintain strong financial controls and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner

Month End Close

  • Ownership and preparation of the month end close process across the French legal entities and cost centres
    • Preparation of departmental P&Ls and associated supporting schedules
    • Prepare agent bonus/commission statements, ensuring timely and accurate pay-outs
    • Preparation, review and monitoring of all company balance sheet reconciliations
    • Preparation of detailed and informative commentary to support variances to forecast / budget across the full P&L
  • Manage the intercompany process ensuring settlements are made appropriately between companies on a timely basis
  • Prepare Management Information packs before distribution / presentation to stakeholders
  • Presentation of monthly performance and variance analysis as appropriate
  • Budget & Analysis
  • Manage the annual budgeting process for Rugby and Football France cost centres to be reported up to the UK
    • Liaise with key budget holders and other stakeholders
    • Provide ad hoc analysis and schedules to support budget assumptions and inputs
  • Manage the monthly reforecast process, ensuring inputs are aligned with accurate and up to date information with insights gained through effective business partnering
  • Manage and own future billings for contracted revenue at a cost centre, agent and client level to ensure accurate forecasting and accuracy of billings and reporting
  • Model and run ad hoc analysis to support commercial decisions
  • Bonus calculation/tracking

  • Ensure all contracts and documentation in place for all revenue streams
  • Track and monitor all revenue contracts for variable items, amendments and client payables
  • Review and manage payrolls, with an understanding of any variance to forecast / budget by employee. Ensure timely payments to employees and to the payroll bureau
  • Weekly cashflow management and forecast input for all accounts associated with Rugby and Football France cost centres
  • Review and approve settlement runs for Wasserman France
  • Review and approve employee and consultant expenses for Wasserman France
  • Approve ad-hoc bank payments for Wasserman France
  • Manage credit control for Wasserman France ensuring all steps taken to recover debtors owed to the company alongside assessments for bad debts in the event of unrecoverable funds
  • Manage accounting integration of acquisitions and/or new business ventures and quickly establish robust financial controls and align to group accounting policies.
  • Continuous process improvement, ensuring the system is fully optimised to make processes as efficient as possible
  • Team/project support for business initiatives
  • Cover team members to review and approve customer, supplier and invoices processed through the system
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required
  • Day to day support for Wasserman France Rugby and Football agents and commercial department
  • Review and support for transfers, labour agreements, commercial contracts and ad-hoc activities for the agents, commercial department and clients

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • 3+ years post accounting qualification or qualified by experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically with Excel. Including Pivot tables & VLOOKUPs
  • Proactive and results oriented, able to work under own initiative and complete tasks to deadline
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections in a clear and insightful manner to non-finance as well as finance users
  • Experience working in a multi-national company
  • English speaking, reading and writing skills
