Finance Assistant - Venue & Commercial
Location: Old Trafford Stadium

The Role:

As our Finance Assistant, you will be integral in managing a range of high-value financial activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on invoicing for MUFC, MUTV, MUWFC, including Commercial contracts, player loans, events, and ad hoc charges
  • Daily reconciliation of all venue products sold via Seat Geek
  • Handling internal financial processes
  • Reconciling and processing payments for home and away games, including invoicing and credit control
  • Managing European match finances with contra reconciliations
  • Overseeing V12 Season Ticket finance processes during renewal periods
  • Acting as the primary contact for WorldPay
  • Supporting month-end close with balance sheet reconciliations and control account reconciliations
  • Deputising for the Accounts Receivable Manager as needed
  • Coordinating with the Commercial team on sponsor payment timelines – essential for accurate cash flow forecasting
  • Participating in Monthly Revenue Recognition meetings with the Reporting team
  • Liaising with Football Finance and club to ensure accurate and timely invoice payments
  • Providing accurate data for monthly P&L reporting
  • Supporting future system and finance transformation projects
  • Performing data analysis, report preparation, and automation to drive process improvements
  • Responding to audit requests, including evidence gathering and sampling


The Person:

  • Previous experience in sales ledger or accounts receivable
  • Proven ability to manage high volumes of data and large financial transactions
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Proficiency in financial systems and Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in financial reconciliation, reporting, and month-end processes - desirable
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative, particularly when deputising
  • Previous exposure to audits, automation projects, and financial systems development – desirable
