Electronics Technician

We are recruiting for an Electronics Technician for our Onboard Camera team who would be based at our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world's greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and help develop the OBC system, ensuring it remains in the highest working order and all aspects of the system meet the standards required to run on a Formula One car
• Service all relevant electronic and mechanical components between races, either at Biggin Hill or at the circuit, ensuring that each part of the system is in optimum condition before being used again at the next race
• Once fully trained, to install the OBC system on to each Formula One car, ensuring it conforms to the highest levels of safety
• Perform a role, as required, in the Broadcast Centre at races assisting with the fault finding and repair of the On Board Camera system as well as helping to provide high quality footage for the FOM TV output
• Ensure stock levels are maintained as per BOC requirements
• Be involved in pre-season testing of OBC ‘on car' installations as and when required which may involve visiting Teams or attending pre-season tests
• Help build, design and dismantle the OBC workshop at every F1 event whenever necessary

Qualifications:

• Relevant vocational electronic qualifications

Experience:

• Some electronics experience essential with a proven, track record

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of PCB design and manufacture
• Fine attention to detail in assembly and application
• Soldering and component assembly
• Ability to fault find and diagnose electronic systems
• Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
• High degree of computer literacy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• EU driving license
• Ability to travel frequently
