Full Description

As a Director of Retention Strategy at Fanatics Betting & Gaming, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the player generosity strategy for Fanatics Sportsbook. Reporting into the VP of Loyalty Strategy and Operations, you will play a critical role within the wider Sportsbook team, partnering closely with Product, Trading, CRM, Analytics, and Brand teams to drive player engagement, retention, and long-term value.

Responsibilities

  • Retention and Revenue Growth: Drive measurable improvements in player retention and reactivation by delivering high-impact, personalized promotions that increase player lifetime value.
  • Engagement Growth: Grow the depth and frequency of player engagement through consistently targeted and commercially effective promotional strategies.
  • Bonus Efficiency: Maximize the efficiency of bonus investment by balancing player satisfaction with clear contributions to net revenue growth and profitability.
  • Insight-Driven Strategy: Generate actionable insights through data analysis and player behavior trends to continuously refine and evolve promotional approaches.
  • Cross-Team Alignment: Build strong alignment across CRM, product, trading, and marketing teams to ensure promotional initiatives are seamlessly executed and commercially prioritized.
  • Market Responsiveness: Maintain a dynamic understanding of competitor activity, player expectations, and industry innovation to ensure Fanatics Sportsbook’s promotional strategy remains market-leading.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience leading promotions, player engagement, or lifecycle marketing initiatives within sportsbook or iGaming.
  • Proven track record of building and executing player engagement strategies that drive measurable retention, loyalty, and lifetime value.
  • Deep expertise in sportsbook player behavior, segmentation, bonus optimization, and loyalty program development.
  • Strong command of CRM platforms, marketing automation systems, and performance analytics tools (e.g., Tableau), with the ability to translate insights into action at scale.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance creative promotional thinking with commercial discipline and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams, including trading, marketing, and product, to deliver aligned, high-impact player experiences.
  • Strong business acumen, data literacy, and a deep understanding of how promotions impact revenue, player profitability, and long-term brand value.
  • Passion for sports, fans, and delivering player experiences that differentiate Fanatics Sportsbook from the competition.
