We are seeking a versatile and hands-on Digital Fabrication & Mechatronics Engineer to drive the design, automation, and R&D of custom manufacturing machinery; lead pioneering explorations into novel molding and foaming technologies; and foster knowledge transfer across our global innovation network.
Your Mission
-
Analyze state-of-the-art solutions in digital fabrication and industrial automation to inform machine development.

Develop, assemble, and validate mechanical, electronic, and automation subsystems against defined performance criteria.

Lead pioneering R&D explorations into novel molding and foaming technologies, moving from proof-of-concept to validated solutions.

Establish systematic documentation, parameter guidelines, and operational recipes to ensure global reproducibility.

Define and maintain highly-structured hardware and software repositories, ensuring instructions are clear enough for worldwide teams to replicate setups locally.

Facilitate interdisciplinary feedback loops by supporting debugging, issue reporting, and organizing machine-building workshops for knowledge transfer.
Your story
-
Fab Academy Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (a Master's degree is preferred).

1+ years of hands-on experience in applied research, Fab Labs, or digital fabrication facilities.

Demonstrated involvement in hardware projects with a solid understanding of software architecture, programming abstraction, and object-oriented programming.

Proven ability to analyze complex automation problems and build tangible, working prototypes.

Strong communicator with the ability to foster knowledge transfer and organize workshops.

Previous experience as a Fab Academy instructor is considered a significant asset.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally with international R&D teams.

You thrive in an autonomous working style, and you independently drive R&D initiatives or navigate complex technical challenges.
