Service Description:

In the Venue Technical Department, the Deputy Venue Technical Manager (DVTM) supports and assists the Venue Technical Manager (VTM) in coordinating technical operations at the venue.
This position is based at the Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direction of the VTM for resolution of technical issues.
  • Collaborates closely with the VTM to assist in the set-up and performance of all technical facilities at the venue.
  • Supports the technical quality of broadcast pictures and sounds during transmission; acts as the primary responder for venue technical issues; supervises power backup systems (UPS) and changeover procedures.
  • Co-responsible for the receipt and return of technical equipment at the broadcast compound and Field Shop.
  • Assists MRH’s with their operations at the venue, including technical integration and services from the TOC.
  • Supervises OBS technical personnel at the venue, including the technical production team, transmission, and commentary staff, as directed by the VTM.

Skills, Requirements & Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Electronics or equivalent, with a focus on Broadcasting.
  • At least 2-3 years of engineering experience in Winter Sports Broadcasting.
  • Must currently be working as a Freelancer.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and under high pressure.
  • Previous experience in recent, large-scale, and complex live broadcast transmissions is required.
  • Proficiency in English is required, any additional languages are advantageous.
    • Thorough understanding of digital broadcast automation and broadcast IT systems.
    • Excellent project management skills; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
    • Detail-oriented team player, able to communicate effectively with all levels in a multinational organisation and with key stakeholders and third parties.
    • Comfortable with key office IT tools (MS Office suite, including MS Access and MS Project, or equivalent).
    • National and/or International Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • May be required to undertake additional tasks as assigned.

  • Fast-paced work environment.
  • Outdoor sport venues subject to varied weather conditions.
  • Full-time shift work, including evenings and weekends.
  • Subject to national/international criminal background checks.
  • This freelance position runs from January 16, 2026, to March 17, 2026.
