The Role:

Overview

As a Copywriter on the Creative Team (within Marketing) for the FIFA World Cup 26™ Official Hospitality Program, you will craft compelling and impactful messaging that captures the excitement and prestige of this global event. You will develop a wide range of written content – including marketing collateral, website copy, social media messaging, ad copy (print, video, audio), stadium/event signage, newsletters, messaging guides, and beyond -- ensuring consistency and alignment with the program’s brand voice and marketing objectives.

Guest Services Team involvement

In addition to Creative Team work – which will focus on writing and editing copy as well as concepting and executing marketing campaign creative tactics – this role will also work with the Guest Relations Team in a writing and editing capacity. In terms of time split between the teams: The majority will be spent on Creative Team work in the ramp up to the FIFA World Cup 26™, and then pivot to focus on Guest Relations Team work heading into and during the tournament.

This is a full-time contract position. The contract will extend until September 2026.

This role requires:

  • The ability to write clean, professional copy for a range of audiences and platforms

  • The skills to think critically about content, prioritizing audience needs, and focusing on quality, clarity, and impact (i.e. measurable campaign results)

  • A flexible mindset, as you’ll occasionally take on new projects and last-minute requests

  • An understanding of the sports and hospitality industries

What You’ll Do

  • Develop storytelling strategies that enhance the brand and drive consumer engagement

  • Craft high-quality, engaging copy for various marketing channels including digital, print, social media, and experiential campaigns

  • Ensure all copy aligns with brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone and style

  • Edit and proofread copy for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and impact

  • Collaborate with Creative Team and other Marketing colleagues to conceptualize, outline, iterate, and execute integrated marketing campaigns and related content

  • Provide guidance and feedback on content strategy and creative executions

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, sales, commercial strategy, and tech to ensure clear and cohesive messaging

  • Manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines throughout the campaign cycle

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content and campaigns, using insights to optimize future efforts

  • Support the Lead Copywriter in building and refining editorial processes, guides, and best practices

  • Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends and consumer insights to inform content strategies

  • Note there will likely be a need for reviewing and writing Spanish copy

You Have These:

Copy/editorial skills

  • 4-5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in the sports, entertainment, and/or hospitality industries

  • Portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and successful marketing/content campaigns

  • Proven track record of developing creative and compelling copy across multiple channels

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail

  • Experience with video scriptwriting and production

  • Ability to think strategically and align copy with business objectives and brand voice

  • Understanding of consumer behavior and how to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences, including both B2C (“fan”) and B2B (“corporate”) audiences

Project management/industry experience and skills

  • Experience working on large-scale events and/or major global brands

  • Top-tier project management skills with the ability to change priorities quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience collaborating with marketing teams to iterate on copy concepts based on data-driven insights

  • Working with international partners/events

Other

  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency (especially Spanish and/or French)

  • Passion for soccer and a deep understanding of the FIFA World Cup™

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field

We’d Love If You Also Have These

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing content for search engines

  • Familiarity with content-related metrics tracking, and the ability to use data and analytics to inform and improve content strategies

  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. The company strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.


Hiring Range Minimum:

$67,500 annually

Hiring Range Maximum:

$90,000 annually
