Full Description

Communications Coordinator

Contract: Full time, permanent

Location: London, WC2A 1AN (with hybrid working flexibility)

Indicative salary: £27,000 - £33,000 (dependent on experience)

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for horseracing in Great Britain. It is the BHA’s role to act for and on behalf of the whole sport, ensuring that the highest standards apply on and away from the racecourse.

We are currently looking for a Communications Coordinator to join the Communications and Corporate Affairs department.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the work of the team, including through the planning and delivery of high-profile industry events – principally the prestigious Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, sponsored by Godolphin.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Communications, you will be involved in delivering a broad range of communication and engagement activity, providing support across all areas of the team, including the media, campaigns and corporate affairs functions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Event management
  • Media monitoring and evaluation
  • Public engagement
  • Supporting content creation and output across various platforms
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of internal engagement activity for BHA staff

This role is suited to an enthusiastic and driven individual who is keen to kick-start their career in racing and to develop their communications, engagement, and event planning experience within a busy, fast-paced and dynamic team.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent and proven communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to complete tasks to a high standard and to tight deadlines. You will also have an understanding of creating and publishing digital content.

You will require strong attention to detail and be confident working with multiple stakeholders and highly respected industry representatives. Knowledge of the British racing industry is highly desirable.
