Full Description

Develops and incorporates a clear vision and strategy for sustainable and profitable category growth that supports portfolio, brand, and client strategies. Constantly analyzes the category context beyond the brand, utilizing all available internal and external data (Market data, Household Panel data etc.) to create strong Trade Stories. Develops and implements Category Management projects with clients. Effectively communicates the category vision both internally and externally. Leads projects through SMART KPIs across all Off-Premise channels (channel-specific merchandising standards regarding shelves, coolers, and cross-guidelines). Distills and quantifies key category opportunities (strategic category development through category vision). Works closely with the Trade Marketing team to build the right TM activities with the right execution.

  • STRATEGIC CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT

    • Understands Shopper's profile and insights and develops action plans at channel and client levels
    • Understands the development of the Energy Drinks' category, its future growth potential, Red Bull's growth potential and the role of each Red Bull SKU
    • Prioritizes the right SKUs for the right occasion with the right price and the right activation with the right execution (Understands SKU optimization across channels/brands)
    • Has innovative ideas to generate category growth at channel and client levels
  • CATEGORY STANDARDS ANALYSIS BY CHANNEL AND CLIENT

    • Develops standardized dashboards and reports for external data (Household panel data, off take market data, category data, segments, competitors, trends, gaps)
    • Identifies new developments, forecasts market trends and quantifies key category opportunities, by analyzing the category context beyond the brand
    • Keeps up with shopper insights by channel/account to help shape strategies and to create strong trade stories with impactful storytelling
    • Aligns brand growth ambitions with client growth strategies
  • IMPLEMENTING CATEGORY VISION IN STORES AND CATEGORY MANAGEMENT PROJECTS FOR CLIENTS

    • Keeps up to date with category management development projects from abroad and in FMCG, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge knowledge in this field
    • Transforms results from Category Vision studies into actionable in-store solutions
    • Develops visuals, furniture features, POSMs for in-store use, having knowledge of key Category Management Programs (ex. CATMAN)
    • Develops and implements category management projects with clients in line with company priorities (outside the scope of category vision)
  • SHELF SPACE MANAGEMENT: ASSORTMENT, LAYOUT, AND OTHERS

    • Develops shelving merchandising rules according to the client's decision tree and the company's Revenue Growth Management strategy, tailored to client strategies and needs
    • Proposes the best in-store alternatives that translate the shopper's profile and needs while aligning with our category vision platforms
    • Develops merchandising standards for shelves, coolers, and additional placements, supporting our field sales team with valuable guidelines, tools and data

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • Minimum 2-3 Years of Experience as Category Manager – Preferably in FMCG sector
  • Relevant experience in research (market and shopper) analysis, interpretation and solutions, with experience collaborating with ATL/BTL advertising agencies or market research agencies
  • Experience analyzing large and complex data sets, with clear understanding of markets, sales and distribution, value/volume rotation per SKU, competitive activity, consumer and shopper behavior, category management and business insights in the FMCG context
  • Strong analytical ability, strategic thinking and commercial acumen to understand financial statements and market trends
  • Leadership, motivation, negotiation, communication, presentation, relationship and time management skills
  • MS Office literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to think outside the box and own their results
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a high energy, fast-paced, field-based environment
  • Travel 20-30%
