Since 1988, Everton in the Community has become a dynamic force for good, harnessing the unifying power of football to drive social change and addressing societal challenges across Liverpool City Region. Supported by a team of over 130 full-time staff and over 200 volunteers, the independently governed and independently financed charity offers an extensive array of more than 60 programmes and initiatives that tackle a diverse range of social issues.

These programmes cover areas such as health, employability, anti-social behaviour, crime, exploitation, education, dementia, and disability.      

Everton in the Community stands firmly beside the most at-risk and most in need members of its local communities, but the needs of the city are ever-growing and ever evolving.      

Everton in the Community’s five-year strategy, the Trinity Project, aims to bring transformational change to Liverpool 4 and beyond and will work to nurture confidence in others by creating opportunities that can profoundly change lives through three powerful pillars in Learns, Minds and Thrives.      

About the opportunity:

Our Children and Youth Services aim to support children and young people aged 2 to 25 who are at high risk and facing vulnerability. 

These programs offer intensive help and positive interventions for individuals dealing with serious issues such as homelessness, criminal involvement, educational struggles, mental and physical health challenges, and family difficulties. 

Our goal is to break the cycle of limited aspirations and unfulfilled potential by guiding, inspiring, motivating, and empowering children and young people to achieve their potential. 

We are looking for a Casual Residential Support Worker(s) to inspire and empower young people and adults to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition and contribute towards creating ‘stronger communities and brighter futures’ 

In your role as a Casual Residential Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting our Home Is Where The Heart Is (HIWTHI) residents, on a casual basis as and when required, working closely with the Children and Youth Manager to ensure our HIWTHI programmes align with the goals and objectives of EITC’s five-year strategy - Trinity Project. 

Who are we looking for: The successful candidate(s) will need previous experience of working with young people and young adults from a variety of different backgrounds and providing 1-to-1 support work with young people; to include assessment, intervention planning and deliver of action plans.

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:  

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. 

  • IT literate to a good level and competent

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of different audiences 

  • Certificate/Training in Safeguarding

  • Relevant Mentoring Qualifications

This is a casual role working Ad-Hoc flexibly across the week including evening work.
