Full Description

We are seeking a Business System Owner to take product ownership of the operational management and adoption of key business systems within Premier League Studios. This role will serve as the product owner, primary super-user and trusted advisor, ensuring that production resource management, scheduling, and planning tools effectively support business workflows. A analytical thinker, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand workflows, provide system expertise, troubleshoot challenges, hold vendors to account for roadmaps and drive best practices across the business.

As our Business Systems Owner, you will play a crucial role in connecting technology with people, enabling our teams to work smarter and more efficiently in a creative, fast-moving media environment. This is a unique opportunity to have a real impact on how we deliver world-class content.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, a solid understanding of broadcast operations, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement without requiring a technical IT background..

Who we are

The Premier League is home to some of the most competitive and compelling football in the world. The League and its Clubs use the power and popularity of the competition to inspire fans, communities and partners in the UK and across the world. The Premier League brings people together from all backgrounds. It is a competition for everyone, everywhere and is available to watch in over 900 million homes in 189 countries.

In November 2024, the Premier League announced it was establishing a new in-house media operations business launching at the start of the 2026/27 Premier League Season. Premier League Studios will be responsible for all international media content production and distribution, providing a best-in-class content service to the Premier League’s partners and millions of passionate fans around the world.

The Premier League is an equal opportunities employer and strives to create an inclusive culture where talent can flourish. We believe in the potential of everyone and open our doors to those who share those values. All appointments will be made based on merit; however, we particularly encourage applications from women, people from minority ethnic communities, LGBTQ+ people and disabled people.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week, where possible. You will be expected to attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

  • Own the day-to-day operational management and adoption of core business systems, including resource management, production planning, production finance and broadcast scheduling tools.
  • Develop deep expertise in how our systems support the entire production lifecycle, from content creation through delivery.
  • Act as the main point of contact and super-user for system questions, training, and user support across departments.
  • Evangelise the benefits of system adoption and good practice.
  • Collaborate with production, scheduling, finance, and other teams to identify operational inefficiencies and implement system-driven improvements.
  • Maintain and update user guides, process documentation, and workflows that reflect current business practices.
  • Work alongside IT and external vendors to communicate operational requirements and help prioritise system enhancements.
  • Develop a multi-vendor roadmap to drive future feature sets that increase efficiency or productivity.
  • Monitor system usage and performance, proactively addressing issues, including raising and tracking tickets in the Jira system, to ensure continuous operational excellence.
  • Support the evaluation and rollout of new tools and technologies to optimise production and resource workflows.
  • Experience working with business systems in an operational or super-user role, preferably in TV, broadcast, or media production environments.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows, scheduling challenges, and resource management.
  • An understanding of complex business systems architectures, system relationships and dependencies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to explain system functionality clearly to non-technical users.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships and influence teams across a fast-paced, deadline-driven business.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to manage multiple systems and priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working with diverse software platforms without needing deep IT or coding expertise.
  • Familiarity with broadcast scheduling software, resource planning tools, NRCS systems or project management systems is a plus.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management practices.
