Full Description

The Associate Product Manager sets & executes the strategy for their products. You will be in charge of executional activities across multiple properties that help ensure the products are of high-quality, delivered on-time and within budget. The role will require strict attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, and ability to be fast and flexible in reacting to feedback from managers, cross-functional teams and licensors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create the yearly product release plan
  • Create the forecast of sales volume with sales team and profitability targets with finance team
  • Define the composition for each product and lead a cross-functional product development team to achieve product development objectives
  • Collaborate with athlete partnerships to identify annual autograph and memorabilia needs and ensure spend is within budget
  • Work with sales to identify the SKUs needed for maximum revenue while minimizing SKU proliferation and COGS
  • Deliver the forecasted revenue and profit within the approved budget
  • Work with Licensing team to ensure rights are acquired as needed to maximize product profitability
  • Act as a point of contact for the licensor, if applicable, ensuring that all product adheres to the brand guidelines of the licensor
  • Interact with consumers, retailers, and distributors to understand their desires and the drivers of product purchase behavior
  • Prepare presentations for line reviews, customer meetings and corporate reviews
  • Lead the process for creating assets and sales content to be used for marketing and online listings
  • Drive innovation within the trading card industry

Knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge of licenses, both current and historical
  • Knowledge of collectible category & license trends
  • Knowledge of Japan Sports league

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to multi-task, juggle multiple projects and effectively determine priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and oral
  • Strong computer skills – Word, PowerPoint and Excel essential.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while also being able to execute flawlessly

Experience

  • 3+ years brand or product management experience
  • Solid business and product development background
  • Consumer products experience preferred

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in marketing, business, or related field
