THE JOB / Account Director (Global Soccer) (Hospitality Client​)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (2-3 days week in office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Los Angeles, CA or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates**

We’re looking for a dynamic Account Director to sit within the heart of this Travel and Hospitality client managing a team to activate their new partnerships in global soccer, music festivals and culture. This fantastic opportunity will sit within our client services department and will be the program lead that brings this partnership to life. You’ll be the day-to-day point of contact for our client’s events and sponsorship team and will lead a team managing the execution of partnership experiences, talent and asset tracking. This position offers an opportunity to lead a mid-sized team.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Primary client liaison, supervision and implementation of operational and tactical activations including but not limited to:
  • Development of partner-based experiences designed to resonate with fans
  • Client cross functional team liaison
  • Rights holder relationship management 
  • Experience execution and liaison with internal Experiences, Talent and Digital teams
  • Third party vendor management and inter-departmental output management
  • Support strategic planning of program and comms with the VP, Experiences and Creative Teams
  • Lead and build strong relationships with client and various internal client marketing teams and stakeholders, the go- to oversight person for all partner experience executions
  • Lead and grow key relationships including rights holder and third-party vendor partners
  • Management of one to two direct reports, providing day to day support and oversight, guidance and career development opportunities
  • Provide oversight for the account team’s day-to-day activities and quality control for all client facing materials
  • Budget management and financial reporting for areas of responsibility
  • Prepare presentation documents supporting strategies, ideations, sponsorship evaluations, POV’s, program overviews, recap summaries, finances
  • Project management to help keep the larger agency team on task and on time – manage timelines and status documents
  • Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the client’s business initiatives and marketing trends

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of experience in related field
  • A passion for and expertise in entertainment and sponsorship marketing – culture and music a strong plus
  • Agency experience working in a similar role 
  • Ready and excited to be the client’s go-to person, has excellent account management skills and can clearly present ideas, creative solutions and address challenges/obstacles head on
  • Has the ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and when under pressure
  • Has prior experience serving as liaison between brand and partners, both internal and external, with the ability to become the brand gatekeeper
  • Is proficient in directing, reviewing, and providing quality control on deliverables prepared by outside vendors
  • Has exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Is comfortable with a moderate amount of travel that will be required throughout the year, including nights and weekends
  • Enjoys working and being part of a big team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google suit
  • Fluency in other languages is a plus
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (30%)

The base range for this position is $80,000 – $95,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with thecompany (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background,pertinent experience, and qualifications
