Full Description
The New York Red Bulls are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Red Bulls Youth Program is a multi-layered system that provides professional support at all levels of the game. Each level of the player development pyramid has been structured to provide support to players, coaches, and youth soccer organizations. Within the local community, programs are offered for players of all ages and abilities. For players with outstanding ability, there is an opportunity to progress to the academy level and even the Red Bulls First Team. We are the #1 professional coach education team in the NY/NJ-Metro area and will make you a better coach.
PURPOSE OF THIS JOB
RBNY Youth Coaches are responsible for delivering safe, high-quality training sessions to recreation and travel players within our community club partnerships. Coaches support player development, complete all required administrative and education requirements, and represent RBNY with professionalism on and off the field.

COACHING ROLES
- Full Availability Coach
- Available 6-7 days a week
- 18-22 coaching hours a week
- Required to complete 25 hours of core education meetings
- Partial Availability Coach
- Available 2-3 days during the week, with weekend availability
- 10-15 coaching hours a week
- Required to complete 6 hours of education meetings
- Junior Coach (aspiring coaches)
- 6 coaching hours a week
- Full Availability Coach
EXPECTATIONS
As an RBNY Youth Coach, you will be expected to uphold our professional standards both on and off the field:
On-Field Responsibilities
- Deliver sessions aligned with the RBNY philosophy and Red Print methodology.
- Arrive on time with the field inspected, equipment prepared, and session plan ready.
- Maintain a safe environment: check the field, secure goals, follow check-in/out procedures, and follow the two-adult rule.
- Demonstrate coaching—not playing—in all sessions and games.
- Carry required first-aid supplies and follow proper procedures.
Off-Field Responsibilities
- Attend mandatory weekly paid education meetings (typically Tues/Wed/Thurs mornings).
- Attend paid seasonal orientations.
- Complete all required administrative tasks, including session plans, team reports, evaluations, timesheets, and expense reports.
Player Welfare
- Treat all players with dignity and maintain appropriate physical contact guidelines.
- Ensure no player is left unattended and all departures are with an approved guardian.
- Promote an environment free from bullying, harassment, or misconduct.
Professional Conduct
- Communicate only with parents/guardians—never directly with minors.
- Do not share photos, videos, or work-related content involving players on social media.
- Wear approved Adidas coaching apparel and maintain professional appearance and behavior.
- Refrain from alcohol on coaching days.
- Report incidents or violations promptly.
General Expectations
- Your work week includes coaching hours, administrative tasks, and required education meetings.
- Adherence to all deadlines, policies, and procedures is required.

EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise

- Over the age of 18
- Minimum USSF ‘D’ or equivalent coaching license
- Coaching experience with youth players or previous playing experience
- Reliable form of transportation.
