Full Description

The VP Brand Communications will play a critical role in shaping and communicating the Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) brand narrative in earned channels and through management of talent partnerships. This leader will develop and execute innovative creative communication strategies that resonate with sports fans and casino players, enhancing brand visibility and desirability, and will also oversee FBG's social media handles and FBG's industry communications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing talent relationships, ensuring that partnerships deliver maximum impact. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has a strong external network. Reporting to the CMO, the VP will lead a talented team and act as a vital member of the FBG Marketing leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement comprehensive and differentiated proactive and reactive brand communication strategies through earned channels, aligned with FBG's mission and business goals.
  • Own relationships with key editors, writers, and people of influence in sports and gaming, particularly with a lifestyle focus to tie together narratives on creative campaigns, events, influencers and talent, and socially-exciting content.
  • Collaborate with VP, Industry Communications, on key trade and executive narratives, for cohesion across all communications.
  • Oversee the distribution, creation, and measurement of engaging content across social media platforms to drive brand awareness – including strategizing how press and social coverage intersect.
  • Manage influence strategy across all types of talent, developing approaches that leverage partners across the right goals and channels for maximum impact.
  • Participate in the campaign development process, actively ideating and contributing how to develop press-and social-worthy ideas during go-to-market.
  • Develop content strategy for events, aligning press and social media goals for one cohesive storytelling approach that supports FBG's goals.
  • Work effectively with internal departments, at FBG and with FHI Communications and Social Media, and external agencies to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment.
  • Establish reporting cadence, tools, metrics and KPIs to evaluate brand communication effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the brand consumer communications, industry communications, talent partnerships, and social media budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Act as a brand protector and ambassador at events and with partners.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, Talent Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in brand communications.
  • Proven track record of successful brand communication strategies for brands, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Highly developed network of press, people of influence, in the sports and entertainment worlds.
  • Experience building, scaling, and managing high performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.
  • Team-first mentality with a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Open to regular travel to events and other Fanatics offices for various offsite and team meetings

The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $377,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award.

In addition to the base, bonus, and equity, full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid time off and other benefits like Wellhub, Pet Insurance, Family Care Benefits,, and more. We'll also give you $700 USD (or local equivalent) to set up your home office!
