The Role and WhatYou’llDo:
We areseekinga highly experienced and qualifiedVenue Technology ManagerforVancouver, with extensive experience managing technology for large-scale events. The On-site Technology Management Team will be crucial in successfully executing the Official Hospitality Program for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This role will managevendorsandcoordinate all activities of the Onsite Technology Functional Area. This includes managingvendorsto design, configure, and implement hardware and software systems, as well as deploying and collecting computer hardware and software operating systems. This position reports to the Sr. Venue Technology Manager.
Serveas the on-floor technology lead for assigned areas (e.g., front-of-house, back-of-house, premium spaces, control rooms).
Work with and support their Sr. Venue Technology Manager in the overall planning, design, delivery, implementation, testing, operation, decommissioning, and reinstatement of all technology services and solutionsrequiredat their assigned competition or non-competition venue(s).
Contribute to the detailed venue project planning process for your venue(s), ensuring that the technical and operational spaces, power, network, and equipment required by Technology are incorporated into the planning and executing the technology needs of our Hospitality Venue Management teams and other FAs.
Implement the overall strategy for venue operations technology (access control, production, audio/visual, and network infrastructure) to deliver a fantastic experience for our guests.
Monitorcritical technology systems and proactivelyidentifyissues before theyimpactoperations or guest experience.
Act as the first escalation point for technology incidents within assigned zones.
Respond to and resolve in-person technology support requests during events.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for hardware,software,connectivity, and user issues.
Document incidents, actions taken, and resolutions for post-event review.
Deploy, configure, and test event-critical technology equipment.
Monitorshared or high-use devices throughout the event.
Perform quick swaps or repairs to minimize downtime.
Support vendor load-in/load-out activities under the direction of the Senior Venue Technology Manager.
Ensure vendors adhere to approved SOWs, schedules, and venue protocols.
Escalate vendor performance orscope ofissues to the Senior Venue Technology Manager.
Perform system checks, testing, and setup ahead of upcoming events.
Assistwith technology rehearsals, dry runs, and operational readiness reviews.
Support temporary builds, activations, and special event setups.
Assistwith inventory tracking, storage organization, and asset control.
Ensure equipment is properly returned, charged, and stored after use.
Flag damaged, missing, or aging equipment for repair or replacement.
Assistwith vendor scheduling, onsite coordination, and task execution.
Verify completion of vendor work and report status to the Senior Venue Technology Manager.
Support compliance with venue technology standards and policies.
Handle venue technology support requests during standard operating hours.
Troubleshoot recurring issues andassistwith root-cause analysis.
Ensure issues are documented and tracked to closure.
Maintain clear communication with the Senior Venue Technology Manager onissuesofstatus and risks.
Provide real-time updates from assigned areas during the event.
Contribute to post-event incident summaries and lessons learned.
Support access control devices as needed throughout the village and venue.
You have these:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fieldexperience.
Technologymanagementexperience inon-site/fieldtechnologysupport and project management, preferably in the ticket and hospitality industrywithmajor sporting events.
Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technology concepts to technical and non-technical teams.
End-to-end understanding of how an integrated set of technologies deliversa smooth and efficient venue experience for guests and staff.
Demonstrated successindelivering complex, mission-critical technology programs and managing operations through 3rdparty vendors and large organizations.
Sound understanding of IT and/or telecommunications, including Wi-Fi, network cabling,and troubleshooting.
Experienceindelivering production IT serviceswithin a high availability environmentfor successful delivery of SLA/OLAs.
Experienceinmanaging third-party suppliers in a multi-vendor environment.
Proficientin desktop and mobile OS systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, and Linux, including MS Office 365.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment within a high-profile international project.
Fluency inbothverbal and written English isrequired;proficiencyinSpanishis preferred.
Experience working in a technology role inpreviousmedium to large-scale events such as World Cups and/or Commonwealth, Euros, and Olympic Games.

Experience working in the ticketing, travel,or hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in Audio/Visual systems, configuration, and troubleshooting is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay Range: Up to $75 CAD/Hour
