Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

The Venue Development & Overlay (VDO) functional area is composed by areas such as Design & Delivery, Program Management, Cost & Contract, Engineering Services and Signage and Wayfinding. VDO is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of temporary infrastructure (overlay) for all competition and main non-competition venues.

This position is an integral part of the Venue Development & Overlay (VDO) functional area and will support the whole team focusing on the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) matters related to the temporary infrastructures, reporting to the VDO H&S Manager.

The resource will support all the functional areas of VDO team involved in competitive and non-competitive venues on issues related to H&S. The resource will provide technical support, coordination and management of H&S aspects related to the use of spaces in the context of sport and entertainment events, villages, general workplace, etc.

In particular, he/she will:

  • Support the delivery of all VDO H&S related services;
  • Suggest, follow instructions and assist in reporting on H&S issues across all venues;
  • Support the venue design and delivery needs related to H&S;
  • Support the relationships with service providers to ensure efficient and effective delivery;
  • Management of consultants and suppliers of event-related services from the H&S point of view in accordance with the Italian and local regulations;
  • Support the VDO H&S Manager for meetings with the local Authorities such as “Commissioni di Vigilanza”, “Comune”, “ASL”, “Ispettorato del Lavoro”, etc;
  • Assist in the contractors H&S related activities during the building site activities;
  • Assist in management of specific documentation for the building site safety management (DUVRI, DVR, PSC, POS) and fire safety (Emergency and Evacuation Plan);
  • Support in H&S operational activities in the field by conducting on-site inspections, coordination meetings and drafting minutes, audits and reports;
  • Ensure a high standard of relationship with all internal functions, stakeholders and contractors and the like;
  • Coordinate cross functional requirements to ensure effective communication and development;
  • Share ideas and information with the team and contribute to the team environment;

Requirements

  • Qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or other technical discipline;
  • H&S specific post-graduate courses connected to D.Lgs 81/2008 (HSE) and L. 818/1984 (Fire Safety);
  • Italian language is mandatory. Excellent language skills in English;
  • IT-experienced, professional use of CAD softwares, knowledge of usual office softwares;
  • At least 3 years of experience in H&S role in a construction / engineering environment;
  • Knowledge of H&S matters connected to D.Lgs 81/2008 as Risk Assessment (DVR), Safety and Coordination Plan (PSC), Interferential Risks Assessment (DUVRI), Operational Safety Plan (POS);
  • Knowledge of emergency and evacuation plans;
  • It is an advantage, to have knowledge connected to sport/entertainment venues and temporary infrastructures;

H&S engineering/construction related roles

Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary projects is an advantage.

Experience in previous Organizing Committees or Multi Sport Events is an advantage.
