VAT Manager

As VAT Manager, your role will encompass all indirect taxes across nine countries in which David Lloyd Clubs operate. The countries currently are UK, Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, France, Germany and The Netherlands, and this may expand in future.

You will lead all indirect tax matters for the group, overseeing preparation and submission of c.15 international VAT returns and managing real-time reporting requirements (e.g., SII in Spain). Other responsibilities include balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting VAT exposures, maintaining the UK VAT risk register, liaising with tax authorities and advisors, supporting evolving business strategies with tax insight, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving process improvements and automation while controlling departmental costs.

About you:

• CTA/ACA/CA qualification or equivalent, large accountancy firm training/experience desirable.
• Significant post-qualification VAT experience, ideally within large or complex organisations.
• Experience of forecasting.
• Minimum of intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is beneficial.
• Understanding of Alteryx is beneficial.
