Full Description

The mission of Traceability Pillar of Mitchell & Ness' Sustainability team is to create visibility and trust within our source base and enable expansion of our labor and environment programs to upstream suppliers. We also strive to meet or exceed external stakeholder expectations for transparency and accountability.

The Traceability Manager will drive the expansion of traceability programs across the manufacturing supply chains of Mitchell & Ness' diverse business divisions, acquisitions, and supply chain segments. This will include engaging with internal cross-functional teams to understand sourcing models, assessing risks associated with raw materials, product categories, and sourcing regions, and developing and managing program expansion project plans. The position will report to the Sustainability Director, Traceability. The position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders across the business, providing training to both internal teams and suppliers on Traceability polices and due diligence requirements
  • Collect and analyze supply chain data to prioritize disparate business divisions for integration into upstream mapping and product traceability programs
  • Contribute to development of Traceability readiness and supply chain segmentation frameworks
  • Make recommendations for risk-based approaches to expanding Traceability work to divisions
  • Build and manage division onboarding project plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams (Traceability, Brand Responsibility, Data, Sourcing, Compliance, Legal, Trade) to track implementation and trouble-shoot challenges
  • Track program implementation and risk-reduction metrics to contribute to internal leadership-level reporting
  • Develop and refine internal procedures, training, and supplier communications to support compliance with evolving regulatory and customer requirements related to traceability and upstream supply chain visibility
  • Support with data collection for compliance with customer reporting and requirements (e.g., conflict minerals, supply chain disclosures, product traceability)
  • Monitor upstream supply chain risks, staying abreast of industry news and regulatory updates impacting supply chains located in the Eastern Hemisphere, as well as brands and importers in the Western Hemisphere to assess impacts to traceability policy, processes, or programs

Qualifications:

  • A passion and commitment to sustainable business practices
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, successfully leading collaboration of global matrixed teams
  • Knowledge of social and environmental compliance risks in consumer goods supply chains, such as raw material traceability, chain of custody, and conflict minerals reporting in apparel and consumer goods supply chains
  • Familiarity with global sustainability and human rights standards and legislation
  • Experience with human rights and regulatory risk assessment of supply chains, leveraging qualitative and quantitative supply chain data analysis, desktop research, and on-site factory engagement, such as with a large brand/retailer or consulting service provider
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience developing and scaling best-in-class social compliance requirements across complex global manufacturing supply chains, including developing delivering clear and engaging presentations in English, and Chinese or Vietnamese
  • Professional working proficiency in English and strong preference for Mandarin Chinese or Vietnamese; additional languages a plus (e.g., Hindi, Urdu)
  • A proven track record of building trust with geographically diverse colleagues and supply chain partners and strong cross-cultural communication skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint), and willingness to learn new software and data management tools (e.g., Airtable, PowerBI, supply chain management and traceability platforms)
  • Sound judgment, resourcefulness, and capacity to deal with ambiguity by engaging stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to undertake diverse projects
  • Ability to travel when needed
