Tournament Services Intern

Responsible for assisting the Tournament Services Manager with hospitality, sponsorship activation and client services.

• June 3 – October 30, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduating senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university or currently possess a bachelor's degree
• Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Communications, or comparable liberal arts majors preferred
• Eligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Public relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public
• Must take initiative, operate proactively, and think independently in project management and problem solving.
• Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously
• Self-discipline with schedule and time management
• Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial.
• Ability to stand for lengthy periods and lift/move boxes of supplies and apparel potentially weighing 30 pounds or more

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Communication and public relations with volunteers
• Recruit volunteers through local charities and community organizations
• Oversee and manage the volunteer database system
• Assist the volunteer leadership with communication and scheduling
• Manage volunteer uniform distribution & training sessions
• Oversee the Tournament's volunteer communication including the monthly newsletter
• Assist with the Tournament's grassroots marketing campaign, working with local partners to promote the event
• Assist with event pre-planning & logistics
• Work closely with the Tournament's title sponsor, Dominion Energy, and host club, The Country Club of Virginia
• Assist with general administrative work and other Tournament Services related duties as assigned
