MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
TECHNICAL POLICY LEADERSHIP
- Lead Region I’s work on vehicle-related regulatory files at both EU and international levels.
- Monitor and analyze complex developments in software-defined vehicles (SDV), E/E architectures, vehicle electronics, and data access.
- Translate emerging technical trends, including AI applications in mobility and autonomous driving into actionable policy positions and risk mitigation strategies.
REPRESENTATION & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Represent the FIA Region I in key EU and industry fora, acting as a technical authority in discussions with the European Commission and relevant agencies.
- Interface with industry stakeholders, including OEMs, suppliers, and automotive associations, to advocate for balanced regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate and synthesize technical input from member Clubs to ensure a unified voice in policy discussions.
STRATEGIC CONTRIBUTION & COORDINATION
- Collaborate closely with the Policy Team to develop integrated positions that align technical expertise with regulatory and advocacy goals.
- Identify emerging issues and strategic opportunities to position Region I as a forward-looking and credible actor in the mobility sector.
- Provide high-level technical input for communications and advocacy activities to simplify complex topics for broader audiences.
PROFILE:
- University degree (Master’s) in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field with strong policy exposure.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience within the automotive sector (OEM, supplier, association) or the EU policy environment.
- Proven expertise in vehicle software and electronics architectures, connectivity ecosystems, and AI/digitalization in mobility.
- Deep understanding of Type Approval and European regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate technical complexities into policy-relevant insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to negotiate and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in other European languages is a significant advantage.
