Full Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Support Supervisor will coordinate with Shipping and Receiving Clerks as well as Leadership to oversee all inbound and outbound operations within the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of area processes in alignment with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard work instructions (SWIs), while also being accountable for outcomes related to safety, quality, and performance. Core responsibilities include managing order fulfillment, replenishment, shipping, receiving, and day-to-day operations of the front-end system, all with a focus on achieving operational excellence.

SUPPORT AND MANAGE TEAM OF SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERKS
Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) are strictly followed by Shipping and Receiving Clerks across 24/7 shift operations. Specific processes include:
Managing orders by waving/releasing them for the warehouse.
Signing drivers in and out of the facility while verifying all associated paperwork.
Assigning dock doors for both inbound and outbound shipments.
Maintaining door accuracy and ensuring the trailer inventory is up to date on the yard report.
Processing Bills of Lading and other shipping and receiving documentation.
Reconciling inbound shipments with packing slips and coordinating activities in the drop lot.
Coordinating yard movements with the spotter/yard jockey.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Maintain updated Inbound and Outbound Schedules.
Collaborate closely with shift management and team leads to meet shift goals effectively.
Report errors or issues to the appropriate leadership member to ensure accuracy.
Promote the safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and policies.
Minimize interruptions to ensure ongoing productivity in the warehouse.
Coordinate with warehouse leadership to streamline workflows, ensuring products are unloaded, received, put away, selected, and loaded efficiently.
Plan and manage scheduling to accommodate vacations, holidays, and shift vacancies, ensuring adequate staff coverage for all warehouse tasks.
Monitor schedules and balance workloads by reallocating Clerks as necessary across shifts.
Track productivity and volume using the labor management system to ensure operational efficiency.
Manage employee performance through consistent, timely, and accurate performance reviews, coaching employees on expectations, recognizing high performers, and providing constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
PARTNER WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS IN WAREHOUSE LEADERSHIP
Collaborate with warehouse leadership to minimize overtime by effectively using the Daily Planning Tool spreadsheet.
Work closely with warehouse leadership and the transportation team to optimize the flow of receiving and shipping processes.
Coordinate with inventory control to reduce warehouse shrink (product loss).
Team up with the safety supervisor to ensure adherence to safety protocols and eliminate accidents and injuries.
OPERATIONS SUPPORT (TRAINING, PLANNING, AND ORDER MANAGEMENT)
Responsible for the overall appearance, maintenance, and security of the warehouse and its equipment.
Assist in promoting workplace safety by collaborating with the Safety Supervisor to address and resolve any safety concerns.
Adhere to and understand all relevant company policies, including but not limited to attendance policies, the Code of Conduct, and the Employee Handbook.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies such as those set forth by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), HACCP, AIB, and others.
Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory operations
- Proficient in mathematical and logistical operations
- Strong leadership capabilities, including mentoring, training, and providing corrective feedback
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare presentation materials and deliver information effectively in both one-on-one and group settings
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Proven analytical and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with computer ordering systems and other IT systems
- Fluent in English, with additional language skills considered an advantage
