Supervisor, HVI

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HVI supervisor oversees the handling and the production team in all of the levels of the department, ensuring all of the different procedures are met on time and with the quality standards required, while also managing personnel schedules and necessities to be able to complete the above.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures production needs are being met by following production schedule, scheduling machine personnel time, supplying necessary material, and initiating personnel to begin production. Scheduling work hours and shifts, coordinating job rotation and cross training employees
2. Interacts with other department to meet deadlines by constantly analyzing production status, reviewing with production manager the status of projects, attending production meetings to update information, communicating with Logistic Department to transfer product to other departments and implements security procedures and storage of High value items.
3. Performs administrative support for the HVI personnel by helping Human Resources with payroll procedures for department, updating any personnel information such as shift, pay, hiring, terminations, attendance, vacation, reviews, worker compensation, safety, training, and personnel issues. Also interacts with fellow employees to motivate them and inform them of company news.
4. Completes any necessary duties that assist the company, not limited to the following: implementing company procedures, participating in investigations, and overall process improvement and efficiencies.
5. Revises quality procedures overall the department, revising and improving these alongside the operators and provides feedback to other stablished quality departments.
6. Conducts regular audits to make sure the quality, security and production associated processes are being met and reports about discrepancies found in those.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

This position requires a thorough knowledge of the print and finishing industries, including familiarity with vendors and suppliers. This position also performs other projects for the company as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, head, talk, handle, carry, reach and climb. This job also requires close vision at 20 inches or less. Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 ft. or more), Color Vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into focus).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in management.
• Overall knowledge in graphic industry.
