Full Description
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer for our Data Governance & Privacy Engineering systems. This role will be crucial in building systems that ensure consent management, data certification, data quality, data lineage tracking, and privacy controls across Fanatics' data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop a comprehensive data certification framework with configurable data quality validation rules, automated profiling, and real-time anomaly detection
- Architect and develop a comprehensive consent management framework
- Architect and develop privacy compliance reporting and data retention management systems
- Implement end-to-end data lineage tracking systems with impact analysis capabilities and column-level granularity for sensitive data flows
- Develop APIs and integration points for connecting data quality, data lineage tracking, privacy, consent and data governance tools
- Implement data classification and privacy-preserving transformation pipelines with appropriate access controls and audit logging
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to establish quality standards and governance practices
- Mentor team members on data quality best practices and drive adoption of governance tools across the organisation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years focused on data platforms
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java or Scala
- Strong experience in working with micro services, distributed systems and data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Airflow etc.)
- Expertise in cloud platforms and their data services, preferably on AWS
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles
- Knowledge of data governance practices and understanding of regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA etc.)
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect / Data Analytics / Data Engineer)
