Job Title: Staff Engineer - Observability and Distributed Systems Specialization
We are seeking an accomplished Staff Engineer specializing in observability and distributed systems technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in distributed systems, scalable architecture, SRE and observability practices, and excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in software engineering with expertise in backend systems, data structures, and algorithms.
- 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, and scaling distributed systems like Kafka, ElasticSearch in cloud environments. Experience on data processing or streaming pipeline tools like Vector, FluentBit or RedPanda connect.
- 3-5 years of experience on observability and SRE tools, hands-on work building logging and open telemetry pipelines at scale is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and backend services such as databases (RDS, DynamoDB, S3, etc.), messaging systems, and serverless architectures.
- Strong proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and microservices using programming languages like Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, performance optimization, and troubleshooting backend services.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for building reliable systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement highly available, quickly scalable, distributed systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Build robust APIs, services, and workflows to power tools like processing pipelines, client libraries, observability and developer platforms.
- Collaborate with infosec and infrastructure teams to define tool requirements, architecture, and best practices that align with overall productivity goals.
- Create and maintain clear documentation and design docs on the tools and products owned by the team.
- Enhance platform scalability, reliability, and security while addressing the unique needs of developer-facing systems.
- Optimize developer workflows by creating custom tools and frameworks that reduce friction and increase efficiency across various engineering disciplines.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to platform engineering, backend development, and developer tooling.
- Drive innovation in the observability ecosystem by experimenting with and adopting new technologies and methodologies.
- Implement strategies to reduce the unit cost of observability and optimize MTTD & MTTR globally. Be a reference and agent of change for observability best practices in the organization.
- Provide mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
