Full Description

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures timely and accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data
  • Uses financial data to prepare and record general ledger journal entries.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Analyzes the financial statements and provides concise explanations for variances.
  • Research period over period variances in revenue, cost of sales, and expense and provides logical explanations for the fluctuations.
  • Assists internal clients by providing relevant and concise information around account reconciliations, income statement analyses, and any other required information pertaining to the entity.
  • Assists with developing and improving operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
  • Participates in annual audits and special projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. This role typically requires 2- 3 years of experience in accounting or related discipline. Public accounting experience is a plus.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices and procedures.
  • Skilled in analytical and statistical examination for complex problem solving.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports.
  • Ability to understand financial information.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and levels within the organization
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to design, document, and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public.
  • Experience in inventory is a plus, not required
