Full Description

The Senior Network Security Engineer designs, configures, owns, operates and improves all aspects of network infrastructure and works alongside our talented systems and security engineers across our business lines. At Fanatics Collectibles, we believe everyone is a collector and our goal is to build a robust, resilient, secure network that enables the Fanatics mission of providing the total fan experience. The right candidate should be comfortable within campus networks, data centers, WANs and the cloud. Our technology approach is fairly agnostic, where we focus on the best of breed technology. Our environment is fast paced, with a mix of technical debt where we have the opportunity to build the infrastructure that's standardized and automated. You'll be asked to think beyond routers, switches and firewalls and be involved with SaaS, IaaS and other infrastructure projects as well. We're looking for a strong focus on providing an exceptional end user experience, strengthening our processes and procedures and a passion for figuring things out and getting things done.

Primary Duties, Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure and operate route, switch, firewall, WAF and load balancers.
  • Review our existing designs/configurations and outline a plan to improve and standardize.
  • Provide technical guidance to business partners and team members when building a solution
  • Ability to draw out topologies to explain technical concepts as talking points, then document in Visio/Lucid Chart
  • A 50/50 balance between network and security. We are not looking for a CCIE or a CISSP, rather a strong CCNP and a PCNSA, but certainly support your efforts to get there.
  • Open Source Linux, Redhat, Ubuntu, Ansible and Python
  • Passion for growth
  • Cisco Products – IOS, Nexus, IOS-XE, Meraki
  • Palo Alto – Firewalls, Panorama and Global Protect
  • Wireless – Meraki, Mist
  • Microsoft, Linux Systems Experience – Able to login, troubleshoot and rule, “it's not the network”
  • Automation – Ansible, Python, Solarwinds
  • VPN - Site to Site VPN, Client Access VPN, Cisco AnyConnect, Palo Alto Global Protect, Prisma
  • Documentation – Confluence/Visio/Lucid/Netbox
  • SIEM – Sumo Logic
  • Monitoring, SNMP, Solarwinds, ThousandEyes, Open Source Tools as needed
  • Troubleshooting – TCPDump/Wire Shark, Netstat, NetCat, Log review
  • Collocation Work – Providing concise directions to remote hands for rack/stack and troubleshooting
  • Trending/Performance – Review circuits, hardware and recommend improvements as needed
  • Partner with leadership and business stakeholders to proactively identify needs and resolve issues. This includes researching the background of issue(s), identifying root causes, quantifying the scope and scale of issue(s), identifying possible solutions, making recommendations, and executing the solution in accordance with desired business outcomes
  • Work on M&A migrations efforts as it pertains to network and data center

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer engineering, or related field of study or prior working experience
  • 10+ years' experience working with network security strategy & operations
  • Prior experience implementing/supporting complex infrastructure functions preferred
  • Working knowledge of network architecture, engineering and network technologies required
  • Possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, change management and problem-solving skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail and highly organized, but able to operate with ease at all levels (from strategy to execution)
  • Deep empathy for customer experience – always analyzing and assessing from the customers' viewpoint
  • Collaborative, while firm on goals and driving the extended team toward actions (and deadlines) to achieve them
  • Clear and optimistic vision for what can be. Proven ability to execute with urgency and pragmatism in the current environment
  • High curiosity – proactively seeking to learn more and ‘connect the dots' for better solutions
  • Affinity toward technology as a customer experience enabler
