Sr Manager Software Engineering E-commerce

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a leader within this organization, you will collaborate closely with your direct reports, product and business partners, principal engineers, external vendors, and peers to manage priorities and foster alignment on technical deliverables for our e-commerce platform. Your team will comprise a highly skilled group of software engineers who will rely on your guidance to empower them, eliminate obstacles, and cultivate a robust team culture.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced, inclusive, and hands-on engineering leader to lead Nike’s internal e-commerce application. This role is ideal for an individual who excels at the intersection of solution design, platform engineering definition, and product thinking. You will lead the development, delivery, and expansion of the e-commerce platform and services; additionally, you will drive the initiative to leverage AI and ML capabilities into existing applications.

You’ll have -

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in leadership roles or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • Proven experience building e-commerce as well as data-centric frameworks, APIs, and services at scale.
  • Deep expertise in software engineering fundamentals, with a strong command of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Experience with modern data platforms and related tooling like Databricks, Adobe Commerce, SKU Nexus.
  • Experience with CICD and either of DevOps tools like Jenkins, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Much preferred to have Knowledge of AI/ML, GenAI, and AI-powered automation.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and collaboration skills, leading through influence and navigating complex problem spaces.
  • Operates with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset, prioritizing customer value and continuous improvement through resilient, scalable systems.
  • Leads with empathy and intention, fostering a culture of trust, empowerment, and growth in alignment with Nike’s Maxims.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize scalable digital commerce platforms. Drive technical strategy, oversee end-to-end project execution, and ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems to enhance user experience and business performance. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skill, deep technical expertise, and a focus on innovation, performance, and reliability in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
