Full Description
Position Summary:
Maintains and repairs production equipment and helps. Assists with the supervision and training of other Maintenance personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Uses tools, schematics and machining equipment to restore production machines to working order.
- Minimizes unscheduled downtime of equipment by implementing a preventative maintenance plan.
- Supervises, trains and assists other employees in the department.
- Manages equipment parts and shop supplies. Recommend order parts as needed.
- Researches possible means of making improvements to machinery and plant.
- Solves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or other production equipment repair needs.
- Schedules repairs for equipment with department managers and supports contractors if needed.
Other Functions:
This position also performs other projects for the company as needed.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and sit. In addition, this job requires the occasional use of force to push, pull or lift up to 75 pounds. This job requires close vision at 20 inches or less. Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 ft. or more), Color Vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances ad spatial relationships) Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into focus) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Working knowledge on Pneumatic, hydraulic and programmable devices
Skills/Knowledge:
- Organization and planning skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Follow-up Skills
- Math aptitude
- Self-starter and team player
Environment and Scheduling:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing plant setting.
- Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
