Summary: We are seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to drive operational excellence across our rapidly growing production environment. Based in Sunnyvale, Texas, the Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing 2nd Shift Manufacturing operations. This role will build and optimize processes, implement lean initiatives, and develop a high-performing team to support aggressive growth targets.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading complex manufacturing operations during periods of significant scale and change. They must possess a process-driven mindset, strong leadership abilities, and expertise in lean manufacturing principles. This is a hands-on role operating in a fast-paced, dynamic setting requiring flexibility and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop of Value Stream Map and Design analyzing current processes and identification of inefficiencies, resulting in action plans for continuous improvement execution for all of manufacturing.
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing focus on Value Stream Planning, Standardize Work, Leveling, Consumption Control, 5s, Poka Yoke, Lean Line Design, Flow -oriented Layout, Quick Changeover, Ship-to-Line, Cyclical Material Supply, Total Productive Maintenance and Shopfloor Management Cycle.
  • Design and implement standard operating procedures across the entire supply chain.
  • Development of KPIs, from data acquisition to dynamic dashboards that enable the operation teams to take improvement actions, preferable in Power Platform.
  • Hire, mentor and manage a team of ~200 operation associates including managers, supervisors and direct operators, standardizing responsibilities based in job complexity, for 2nd shift.
  • Spearhead projects to upgrade manufacturing capabilities and adopt new technologies resulting in the tangible HC reduction and productivity increase.
  • Drive change management and cultural transformation to an ownership mindset, creating an environment that promotes full engagement on deliverables.
  • Headcount planning, adjusting base on market volume fluctuations ensuring optimal utilization of 95%, developing a cross training strategy to maximize associates' capabilities and flexibility to perform in several departments.
  • Coordinate manufacturing support from functions as Continuous Improvement, Quality, Scheduling, Procurement, Human Resources, Safety, Security, Facilities and Maintenance.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements based in OSHA and additional internal guidelines.
  • Development a Total Productive Maintenance program to maximize operational efficiency of equipment, reducing downtime for maintenance related to 2%.
  • Fully responsible for the departments of Manufacturing and partner with other teams such as Maintenance, Manufacturing Data Management and Technical Training.
  • Ensuring product security during the complete manufacturing process, developing a systematical approach that avoids losses of any kind.
  • Responsible for producing quality avoiding the need for quality checks after or during production, defining quality standards and required training.
  • Developing and executing strategies to achieve 100% On Time Delivery and Efficiency in year-to-year volume increasing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing implementation.
  • Strong process orientation with the ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive change.
  • Capacity to thrive in high-growth, demanding situations with shifting priorities.
  • Superb communication, organization and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience managing cost/spend and developing operational budgets.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing technology/automation a plus.
  • Master of Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations a plus.
  • Ability to communicate with effectively with anyone in the organization, from an operator level to executives.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex manufacturing situations to teammates without expertise in the subjects.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
