Purpose of Role

Under Armour is searching for a motivated Senior Data Steward who will be responsible for the management and proficiency of data and organizational data quality. You will join a results-oriented team and participate in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our data governance program to make better, more informed decisions. This is a key role on the Governance team and will work closely with functional and technical leaders and users to define, develop, and implement our data quality and governance program.
 

Your Impact

  • Execute the full data quality lifecycle, including issue identification, quantification of cost of poor-quality, rule creation and validation, report development, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking.
  • Ensure timely and reliable resolution of data quality issues through cross-functional coordination and escalation management.
  • Lead large and complex initiatives aimed at improving data quality, governance maturity, and data stewardship engagement.
  • Monitor and report on key data quality metrics and governance KPIs to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of enterprise data catalog solutions, ensuring metadata accuracy and accessibility.
  • Facilitate and lead one or more data governance community forums.
  • Partner with data owners, business stewards, and technical teams to define and implement governance best practices for assigned data domain(s).
  • Help draft and refine data governance policies, standards, and procedures that align with organizational goals and business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, data flow diagrams, metadata definitions, and lineage maps.
  • Some data maintenance of master records may be required.
  • Perform other duties related to data governance and quality as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 5 years of relevant data quality, data governance, or data analytics experience OR Master's degree with typically 3 years of relevant experience OR Typically 9 years of relevant work experience without degree.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams or working groups, especially in matrixed or federated data environments.
  • Strong ability to communicate the strategic value of data integrity, governance, and stewardship to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for monitoring data quality.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Pragmatic, analytical problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can operate independently.

Base Compensation

 $80,628.80-$100,786.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
