Full Description
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve customer deductions related to pricing discrepancies, shortages, returns, and allowances.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to gather supporting documentation and drive timely resolution of open disputes.
- Collaborate with the Cash Application and Collections teams to ensure accurate clearing of items and resolution of outstanding balances.
- Analyze root causes of invalid deductions and provide insights to reduce recurring issues and improve upstream processes.
- Monitor deduction aging reports and perform regular account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and transparency.
- Maintain organized records of deduction activities, supporting documents, and customer correspondence.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entry review, accruals, and deduction account reconciliation.
- Contribute to process improvements and participate in system enhancement initiatives to improve team efficiency.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, data analysis, and cross-functional projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in chargeback/deduction resolution, dispute management, or B2B collections.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including account reconciliation, debits/credits, and end-to-end AR process.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships across departments and with external customers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and make informed decisions using Excel and other analytical tools.
- Strong communication skills with a proven track record of presenting findings clearly to all levels of the organization.
- Experienced in managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in navigating customer portals and electronic billing platforms.
- Comfortable working in a role that requires critical thinking, persistence, and flexibility.
