About the job Sports Database Officer
THE JOB
Reporting to the Assistant Sports Information and Database Manager of the Sports Information and External Affairs Centre, the Sports Database Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist the day-to-day HKSI's New Athlete Management System (NAMS) maintenance & operation;
- Act as the focal point in providing technical support to all users in using NAMS;
- Consolidate users' requirements gathering, analysis and documentation and communicate with technical team to ensure the operation requirements well address operation needs;
- Assist the Assistant Sports Information and Database Manager and work closely with development team and external vendors to ensure the requirements can be completed timely;
- Liaise with contractors and IT team to gather specialist information for troubleshooting purposes;
- Provide support, NAMS training and solutions for all users;
- Import data into Dynamics365, modify Dynamics365 forms and build Power BI reports using NAMS data;
- Assist the Assistant Sports Information and Database Manager and explore new technology, introduce innovative solutions to automate process and to uplift operation efficiency;
- Attend meetings, as required to seek feedback and to explore the technical requirements of all service users in order to develop and improve the service; and
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Higher Diploma or degree holder in Computer Science or Information Technology related discipline;
- Two years' full-time working experience in related disciplines or two years' full-time experience as a full-time athlete within a high performance system and exposed to applied sports science;
- Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Sound knowledge of database administration & input, including database design, implementation, migration, and maintenance;
- Familiarity with cloud-based database environments and migration strategies would be an advantage;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform would be an advantage;
- Strong sense of responsibility;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is an advantage; and
- Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong.
